This book grew out of the author's curiosity about Chief Colorow. Research began with the Inspiration Tree on Dinosaur Ridge in Jefferson County, Colorado, and soon delved into the history of the Ute tribe as the author tried to decipher who was who. Hopefully this book will begin to reveal the truth about the Utes and particularly about the poorly reported life of Chief Colorow"--Preface.
